Petroleum is a state owned petroleum company in Qatar. The company
operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration,
production, refining, transport, and storage.
1. Welding Inspector
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • B.Sc/HND or equivalent.
• Formal training in all NDT methods leading to ASNT/CSWlPIPCN Level 2
Certification or equivalent; CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector or
equivalentat the discretionof OBI (G). • 12 years’ experience in NDT
of pressure containing plant preferably in the refinery, chemical or
oil & gas processing plants. Thorough knowledge of International
Codes and Standards related to fabrication and inspection of pressure
vessels, piping, heat exchangers, storage tanks, etc. • Good knowledge of welding techniques, procedures and welding examination.
2. Plant Inspector
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • HND or equivalent.
Technical: NDT methods leading to ASNT / CSWIP / PCN Level-2
certification or equivalent at the discretion of OEI(G). • 8 years
experience in inspection of pressure containing plant preferably in the
refinery, chemical or oil & gas processing plants. • Good
knowledge of international Codes and Standards related to fabrication
and Inspection of pressure vessels piping, heat exchangers, and storage
tanks, etc. • Good knowledge of welding techniques, procedures and welding examination.
3. Senior Technician (Materials)
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Diploma in
Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 7 years experience in the Oil & Gas
industry, min. 3 yrs role as materials planner and 4 years in
maintenance/shutdown planning using an advance CMMS system. • Hands-on experience material/spares planning for mechanical equipment; piping and structures. •
‘Advance user’ of computer systems and applications including access
database, spreadsheet, word processing, CMMS, presentation, flow
charting, etc., A team player with good oral and written communication
skills. • An understanding of workplace health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist ‘Materials Engineer’ in consistently providing quality
‘Materials Management Services’ to NGL Processing Facilities in managing
its major plant turnarounds, to safely and timely achieve ‘Mesaieed
Operations Business Objectives’.
4. Laboratory Technician I
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Completion of
Secondary (12 years) education followed by 2 years full time formal
training in chemistry to OND level or equivalent. • 5 years laboratory analytical experience in hydrocarbon testing. • Fair spoken and written English. Sampling /analysis of gases, high pressure gases, acid gases & liquid sulphur.
• Carrying out physical and chemical tests on finished products or at
intermediate stage and incoming feed streams, also on chemicals (DIPA,
MDEA, Caustic, Acid etc.) usedin the process. • Adhering to international standard methods like ASTM, UOP, IP, SMS, HACH, etc.
5. Senior Technician (Corrosion)
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Completion of
secondary education plus (ONC) formal and in house training in chemistry
and electrical trade or NACE (or equivalent respected authority)
accreditation as corrosion or CP technician. • 8 years relevant experience of which at least 5 shall be as CP technician.
• Plan and carry out all routine field (corrosion monitoring), carry
out all routine, as well as annual cathodic protection and laboratory
work for the Corrosion Protection Section inaccordance with procedures
and programmes prescribed by the Senior Corrosion Engineer. • Carry
out all troubleshooting works identified by self, Senior Corrosion
Engineer or others as a response to extraordinary measurements.
6. Senior Technician (Instrumentation)
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience • Secondary
(12) education, followed by a minimum of two years full time training in
instrument maintenance, electronic and microprocessor equipment to
Ordinary National Certificate level, except where good background and
expereience is advantageous especially relating to the oil and gas
production industry, including gas compression. Any relevant courses to
be taken into consideration. • 8 years’ experience in the
maintenance and repair of wide range of instrumentation, electronic,
pneumatic, PLC’s, gas turbine and gas compression control and protection
systems, fire and gas systems. Should have a good knowledge of safety
practices relating to the Oil/Petrochemical industry.
7. Senior Technician (Electrical)
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Secondary
education followed by two years formal training in electrical high
voltage, medium voltage, low voltage switchgear, control protection
relays or similar to ordinary national diploma level. • Short courses in safety and hazardous area. •
15 years minimum experience following formal training/apprenticeship in
the installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul of a wide variety of
low, medium and high voltage rotating, control and protection
equipment’s. • To be fully conversant with standards pertaining to
electrical equipment and plant installed in hazardous areas and to fully
understand fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of sophisticated
electrical logic and relay control systems. • A minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity would be necessary. Familiar with safety standards and regulations. • Fair written and spoken English. Knowledge and use of PCs using Excel, Word and Dbase programs.
• Supervises, co-ordinates and participates in the activities of
subordinate Technicians in the routine electrical maintenance, overhaul
and breakdown repair of the 33 KV, 11KV, 3.3KV and 415V distribution
network system, including all associated switchgear and control systems
within Gas Distribution Stations. Equipment and plant include Emergency
Diesel generators, Ex HT & LT motors, transformers, lighting
systems, H.V. motors, fire water pumps, motor operated valve actuator
system, Protective relays, UPS system & rectifier/Battery chargers,
cathodic protection transformers/ systems etc. • Ensures the SAP
generated preventative maintenance programs are implemented, as well as
assisting in the development of improving ongoing and future
preventative maintenance.
8. Senior Technician (Mechanical)
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience • Secondary (12 years) education. followed by 2 years formal course in mechanical.
• 8 years hands on experience related to mechanical maintenance and
repair of equipments & machineries used within the Oil/Gas!
Petrochemical industry.
9. General Technician (Instrumentation)
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Secondary
education followed by 2 years formal full time Industrial training in
Instrumentation, Electronics or Diploma in Instrumentation with good
working knowledge of Computers and Computer based Networking Systems.
• 8 years experience in the installation, maintenance, repairs and
overhaul of pneumatic, electrical and electronic instrumentation and
systems of various types and serving diverse purposes, and in the
maintenance of turbine controls and solid state/programmable logic
instrumentation systems, preferably including a period of formal
apprenticeship. • Carries out skilled and complex fault-finding,
repair, installation, maintenance and overhaul work on all types of
pneumatic, electrical and electronic instrumentation and control/plant
safety systems, including specialist work on telemetry, laboratory,
turbine control, computer and alarm systems, in workshop and on site.
10. General Technician (Electrical)
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skill/Experience • Secondary
Education followed by two years formal training in electrical high
voltage, medium voltage, low voltage switchgear, control protection
relays or similar to ordinary national diploma level. Short courses in
safety and hazardous area. Familiar with safety standards and
regulations. • 5 years experience following formal
training/apprenticeship in the installation, maintenance, repair and
overhaul of a wide variety of low, medium and high voltage rotating,
control and protection equipment, to be fully conversant with standards
pertaining to electrical equipments and plants installed in hazardous
areas and to fully understand fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of
sophisticated electrical logic and relay control systems. • Involve
and coordinates the activity of subordinate technicians in the routine
electrical maintenance, overhaul and breakdown repair of the 33KV, 11KV,
3.3KV and 415V distribution network system, including all associated
switchgear and control systems, within Mesaieed facilities. Equipments
and plant includes: Emergency generators, Ex HT & LT motors,
transformers, Ex lighting systems, actuators for MOVs, Electrical
heaters, Electrical heat tracing systems, UPS system, Battery chargers /
Rectifiers, cathodic protection transformers /systems etc. Ensures SAP
generated preventive maintenance programs are implemented. • Guides
subordinate Technicians in Maintenance routine work & assist Senior
Technician in Maintenance of all related files & records. Provides
efficient and quality maintenance of electrical equipments of NGL-
1/2/3/4, Storage & Loading and Utilities Plants. Responsible for
ensuring that safe working procedure is strictly complied with. •
Ensures that subordinate technicians strictly follow QP’s safety
procedures. Non-adherence to above working procedures will lead to
unsafe plant conditions & failure of plant/equipments giving rise to
substantial revenue losses.
